They will also be camping out at St John’s. Food is being provided by St John’s church. It is such an honor to help them on thier journey across America.
The Illini 4000 for Cancer is a non-profit organization dedicated to documenting the American Cancer experience, raising funds for cancer research and patient support services, as well as spreading awareness for the fight against cancer through annual cross country bike rides.
Once again St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church has hosted the Illini 4000 for Cancer in 2014!
On Monday, June 2nd St. John’s welcomed 20 bikers traveling across the U.S. in support of Cancer and making video sessions from people whose lives have been touched by cancer. They stayed overnight at St. John’s and then left on June 3rd.
A big thanks to Center Town Fitness for allowing them to shower upon their arrival. Also a big thanks to Shirley Holloway, Becky Walters, Tammy Metz, & Josh Jacobs for their help in preparing and serving the meals for the Bikers. We look forward to next year and spending time with them again.
